About Us
Faith Formula Human Services is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide services to those who are in need while assessing their social and human necessities for empowerment toward self improvement and transformation of their current condition. Through the establishment of a full service Social Services Program, the goal is to provide appropriate, effective, emergency assistance to individuals and families: to help these persons assume responsibility (both financial and behavioral), and to access them to entitlement and community programs designed to help them achieve stability for the long term.
Since 2006, Faith Formula Human Service has stood on its foundational principles of build, heal, restore. Building communities by providing restorative services that give a hand up where there are lacking resources. Healing families who find themselves in hard times by caring for their physical, mental, and emotional health. Restoring communities by speaking up for the needs of families and partnering with organizations and agencies to expand resources. Created in the wake of the disaster and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, pastor, activist, and humanitarian, Rev. Dr. Frederick Douglass Haynes III sought to create an organization capable of serving the southern Dallas community with human and social services to ensure households and families have the tools they need to be self-sustaining and strong.
Prior to the inception of Faith Formula, Dr. Haynes’ church, Friendship-West Baptist Church, walked with those in need by forming a neighborhood watch and safety committee that partnered with the local neighborhood association to help lessen crime problems, adhere to the needs of the families, advocate with elected officials, and build the confidence of the citizens. Next, Friendship-West formed groups to revitalize the area it served in. Operation Transformation performed cleanups and fix ups to streets, shopping centers, and homes in the area. The rising need of housing and financial support stemming from the effects of the debilitating hurricanes that hit in 2005 caused the church to rethink how they provided support. Faith Formula was birthed from their attempts to assist the struggling families.
More than 400,000 individuals and families have been assisted year to date.
